In a patient who presented with pelvic pain and changed bowel habits, barium enema and sigmoidoscopic examinations demonstrated a nonspecific asymmetric narrowing of the colon at the rectosigmoid junction with normal mucosal appearance. Computed tomography revealed the etiology to be retroperitoneal fibrosis with pelvic extension and entrapment of the colon at this level. The importance of CT in diagnosis of this unusual manifestation of retroperitoneal fibrosis is discussed

A case of gastric duplication in an adult is reported with review of the English literature concerning the clinical aspects of this rare anomaly including age, sex, location, clinical presentation, associated anomalies, and treatment. Behcet's syndrome is a multisystem disease which may produce not only the original triad of relapsing iridocyclitis and recurrent oral and genital ulceration but also skin, central nervous system, joint and gastrointestinal disease. A fatal outcome is uncommon but may occur when the central nervous system or the gastrointestinal tract is involved. We present a patient with colonic ulceration progressing rapidly to free perforation and generalized peritonitis successfully treated by emergency resection

Irreversible pulmonary interstitial fibrosis developed 36 days after a single course of BCNU (total, 400 mg) in a patient with a malignant brain tumor. The case is unique in that irreversible changes developed shortly after a single course of BCNU whereas heretofore such permanent changes have been associated only with multiple courses of the drug (2,000-4,000 mg). This suggests that individual differences in the local sensitivity of lung tissue may be as important as the dose of the drug in determining whether irreversible fibrosis will develop
