ACRL Poster Presentation
Congratulations to Web Services Librarian Emily Molanphy, who presented her poster, “Pinpointing the answer: Simple faceted classification in Delicious,” at the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), New York Chapter, 2008 Symposium. Inspired by a project Emily facilitated with the Division of Education Informatics at NYU School of Medicine, the poster presentation explained “the concept of faceted browsing within and beyond the world of libraries,” with suggestions on how librarians might “add faceted tag bundles to their existing collections of bookmarks in Delicious.” See the poster for yourself. It is on display in the glassed bulletin board to the right of the library’s main entrance.

New Printers/Photocopiers at Ehrman Medical Library
Filed Under Library Services
Ehrman Medical Library now has two new Lanier printers and two new Lanier photocopiers. The Lanier printers replace the old TGI-1 and TGI-2 printers. As before these printers are located next to the computer study carrels in the main reading room of the library. The new color photocopier is in the main reading room as well. The new black-and-white photocopier, expected to be installed soon, will be downstairs in the stacks. Both new photocopiers have a scan to email feature so color scans can now be sent directly to your email address as either PDF’s or JPG’s for easy incorporation into visual presentations and papers. Photocopying costs will remain the same. It is .10 cents per double-sided page for black-and-white copies. Color copies cost a dollar each. Copy cards can be purchased from the Vender Coder Machine (otherwise known as the Black Box) in the library’s main reading room. Minimum purchase is one dollar. The machine takes bills only.
