Location:
The Archives is located in the Medical Science Building, on the Mezzanine level of the Medical Library. The entrance to the Mezzanine
(a set of double glass doors under the sign Joan and Joel Smilow Research Center), is located on the first floor of the Medical Science
Building adjacent to the "A" elevators. Straight down the corridor on the right, and before reaching a second set of glass doors
to the Smilow Research Center, there is a hallway. The Archives is the first door on the right in this hallway.
Description:
The Archives houses the historical records of the New York University Medical
Center and the New York University School of Medicine. It consists of official
records of administrative and academic departments, audiovisual material
and manuscripts determined to be of value in documenting the history of
the institution. New materials are continually being added to the collection.
Access:
The Archives is open to the public. Any person who is conducting legitimate
historical research may schedule an appointment to use the materials.
