Remote Access Guide (ERA2)

Printing?
Use the PDF version

NOTE: If you are a Dental Library patron you must access your resources through the Dental Library site. See the Dental Library site for more information.

ERA 2 (Ehrman Remote Access) allows off-campus access to the library's electronic resources, including databases, full-text books, and full-text journals. ERA 2 works with almost all links in the library's Web site and MEDCat.

Using ERA 2

  1. Go the library's web site or to MEDCat and click on the resource you wish to use:

  2. An authentication screen will appear:
  3. KID/NetID: use your Kerberos ID (KID) or NetID (e.g., doej01 or msk23)
  4. Password: use your School of Medicine (SOM) or hospital e-mail password
  5. You will be connected to the selected resource

Note that unless you close your browser down completely you will only be authenticated once per session, regardless of how many remote sites you access.

Kerberos ID (KID) or NetID

A Kerberos ID or NetID identifies you as an NYU Medical Center employee, student, or faculty.

Password

Your password is your School of Medicine (SOM) or hospital e-mail password.

If you do not remember your password, or think that there may be a problem with your password, you will need to contact the Information Technology (IT) department for assistance. The library cannot provide you with information about your password.

For Medical Center faculty, staff, and students contact the Medical Center IT HelpDesk at (212) 263-6868.

Reporting Problems

If you have trouble signing in, please copy and paste the diagnostic error message into this form. This will help us to identify what type of error is occurring and expedite resolution of the problem.

Please contact us via this form or at (212) 263-5397 for any questions about, comments on, or problems with ERA 2.
