The Ehrman Medical Library adds print, online and other materials to its collections through a specific selection process. Measures used are a close monitoring and annual review of both circulation and in-house use of materials. Interlibrary loan requests are also checked regularly to identify additional materials in demand. Materials are then purchased within the budget of the library to give the highest cost-value. Expressed and anticipated research needs based on patron recommendations, repeated requests for materials, or the known relevance of materials in a given subject area to the mission of the Medical Center are also considered.
