The Ehrman Medical Library provides a large selection of bibliographic databases in support of research and patient care to the NYU medical community. With the proliferation of electronic resources comes the need to know how to access accurate information in a timely manner. Mediated searching is a service provided for the library patron who does not have the time or expertise to conduct his or her own literature search(es). Mediated searching is provided free of charge to students, faculty and staff of NYU School of Medicine, Medical Center and affiliated hospitals. A trained professional will search a variety of databases to meet your research needs. To request a literature search, please go to the Literature Search Request Form online. If you are interested in setting up a "current awareness" service, please contact us via this form or at (212) 263-5397. Searches will be e-mailed to you on a scheduled basis to be determined by you and the librarian.
In addition, the Library provides a variety of other educational programs to enhance learning, research, and patient care at the New York University School of Medicine and Medical Center. These classes are an ongoing series of library research skills classes designed to equip users with database searching, critical appraisal, and information management skills. Tailored instruction sessions are also available upon request for individuals, departments, or specific Medical Center groups. These sessions are not limited to topics offered through the ongoing Library Research Skills classes and can be arranged according to your subject interest and schedule. All current faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to take advantage of this service. Some topics covered by library faculty:
