Description of Library:
The Information Resource offers
access to a vast array of information, spanning atmospheric pollution,
chemical carcinogenesis, toxicology, and occupational medicine through
access to databases, full-text journals, and electronic products hosted
by computers at other NYU locations as well as at other sites on the
Internet. Highly specialized information that is not available at the
NYU School of Medicine or is not yet available electronically is still
kept on-site in the form of printed materials (books, journals, and pamphlets).
Founded in 1947, the Nelson Institute of Environmental Medicine at New York University Medical Center is one of the nation's oldest and foremost centers for research into the health effects of environmental pollution. The Nelson Institute is both a department in the NYU School of Medicine and an institute within NYU Medical Center .
