How do I activate, or reset the password for my Net ID?

All NYULMC students, faculty and staff have an NYU NetID as well as a Kerberos ID. Before using your NetID you must activate it. Follow these steps to activate it, or change your password if you have previously activated it.
To activate your NetID you will need to use your University ID. To find out your University ID, visit this site.
Enter your Kerberos ID or NetID, (In most cases your NetID will be the same as your Kerberos ID) and password and click Login. You will be taken to a page that will have your University ID number.
From the University ID page click on the link: https://start.nyu.edu/ and you will be taken to the page below where you will create a password.
When asked to enter a non NYU email address, the library suggests using your medical center email address. Once you have completed the activation process you should have an active NetID.
If you have forgotten your password, follow the steps to reset it:
Once you have logged in with your Net ID, (in most cases it is the same as your KID) click on Forgot Your Password to the right.
If you have previously registered a non-NYU email address in one of NYU's systems, enter that address. If the email address can be verified, you will receive a one-time reset link and self-service instructions to that email account. If you have not previously entered an email address, click on IT Service Desk.
You will be taken to the NYU IT Service Desk, where you will receive assistance in resetting your password.
